Amazon Key Takes the Worry Out of Package Delivery

The problem with traditional package delivery options is that they are either costly or, as we mentioned above, they result in missed deliveries. Many property buildings believe the solution is to install extra security features to impede package theft, but these measures don't prevent criminal activity. At best, they just limit it, and that's not a risk worth taking. Another option many properties rely on is having a property manager on-site to coordinate deliveries and retrieve packages at the door, but we believe this is a waste of valuable time and resources.

So, how does Amazon Key work?

After the smart fob is installed by a professional security specialist, it can then be integrated into our property's access system. And then the process is pretty simple from there:

• When the Amazon driver arrives with a tenant's package, they can request access to the property through their Amazon Flex app
• They then scan the barcode that's on the package and go through a multi-faceted verification process before they're allowed into the building
• Once approved, the doors digitally unlock, which gives the Amazon driver one-time access to the building so they can drop packages off at our tenant's doors. We've also installed cameras into our entryways for added security to ensure all activity is monitored, even deliveries made through Amazon Key for Business.
• Once the driver exits the building, the door automatically relocks itself
